Mosquito Misting Systems:
What they are and how they work.
Mosquito misting systems have been in existence for over 25 years, they were originally developed for agricultural and equestrian applications, installed in barns to control the population of biting flys and mosquitoes. While this application remains very viable today, residential usage started becoming popular in the late 90’s and today exceeds agricultural by 10 fold. Now, many custom home builders offer mosquito misting systems as a standard
In general, a mosquito misting system is comprised of a reservoir, a pump, a controller, tubing, fittings and specialized spray nozzles. The reservoir is used to hold a dilute solution of natural, yet highly effective insecticide.
Mosquito Control Equipment offers systems in two main sizes:
- A 20 gallon system, capable of accommodating 20 nozzles (approximately 200 linear feet) for smaller yards and boat dock applications AMS-MM+20
- A full sized 55 gallon system capable of accommodating 70 to 100 nozzles. Our full sized AMS systems come with a variety of options; see our System page for details
